1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using PetrolPing (petrolping.com) you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service. These terms apply to all users of PetrolPing, including free and paid subscribers.
2. Description of service
PetrolPing is a UK fuel price tracking application that provides: • Live fuel prices sourced from the UK Government Fuel Finder API • Price trend analysis and day-of-week insights (Pro plan) • AI-generated market commentary and geopolitical risk analysis (Intelligence plan) • Price drop notifications (Pro and Intelligence plans) The service is provided "as is" and is intended for informational purposes only.
3. Accuracy of information
Fuel price data is sourced from the UK Government Fuel Finder API, which collects prices reported by fuel retailers under the Motor Fuel (Composition and Content) Regulations 2023. While we strive to display accurate and current information, we cannot guarantee that all prices shown are up to date or accurate at the time of your visit. Prices may change without notice. Always verify the price at the pump before filling up. PetrolPing accepts no liability for any loss arising from reliance on prices displayed in the app.
4. AI-generated content
PetrolPing uses artificial intelligence to generate market commentary, price forecasts, and geopolitical risk analysis. This content is generated automatically and is not financial advice. AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies. It should not be relied upon as the sole basis for any financial or purchasing decision. Geopolitical analysis is based on publicly available news sources including The Guardian and is intended to provide context, not investment advice.
5. Subscriptions and payments
PetrolPing offers paid subscription plans (Pro and Intelligence) billed monthly or annually. All payments are processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis at the rate shown at the time of purchase. Prices are shown in GBP and include any applicable taxes. We reserve the right to change subscription prices with 30 days notice. You may cancel your subscription at any time via the billing portal accessible from the Profile tab. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial periods, except as required by UK consumer law.
6. Free plan
The free plan is provided at no charge and includes limited access to fuel price data. We reserve the right to modify, limit, or discontinue the free plan at any time with reasonable notice.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to: • Use the service for any unlawful purpose • Attempt to scrape, copy, or redistribute PetrolPing data or content at scale • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the application • Use automated tools or bots to access the service • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
8. Intellectual property
The PetrolPing name, logo, application design, and original content are owned by or licensed to PetrolPing and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Fuel price data is sourced from the UK Government under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Guardian article summaries used in geopolitical analysis are processed under The Guardian's developer API terms.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, PetrolPing shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £50, whichever is greater. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
10. Changes to the service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. For paid subscribers, we will provide at least 30 days notice of any material changes that affect paid features. We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or via an in-app notice.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of PetrolPing shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
